Rafael Bueno

Rafael Bueno (b. 1950, Argentinian) is both an architect and a painter who lives and works in Brooklyn, Buenos Aires, Uruguay, and Paris. His paintings explore the flat surface of the canvas, featuring shapes that seem to float or adhere to a luminous painted space. He integrates the human form and landscapes into his art, creating a unique style. Bueno's work often includes curved canvases, pushing the boundaries between painting and sculpture. Bueno was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he received a Masters degree in architecture at The University of Buenos Aires, and studied drawing at the Asociación Estimulo de Bellas Arte. He moved to New York in 1985 where he currently lives and works. Since 1974 his work has been exhibited Internationally and particularly in Buenos Aires, New York and Paris.
