Amelchenko Gallery and Megan Hay Guglielmo of Hay Fine Art are pleased to bring together a group  of mutually admired artists for an exciting visual dialogue entitled: “The Mystery of Things”.

Featuring:

Claire Libin - Claire Libin is known for her purely abstract paintings that often resemble diagrams.  These paintings serve as visual representations of complex spiritual ideas. She incorporates  elements like flowers, the sky, and animals into her work, which inspire her. Her paintings create a  magical interplay of forms, with ink-like painted flowers and shapes floating on a luminous field,  suggesting a dialogue between various exciting elements.

Rafael Bueno - Rafael Bueno is both an architect and a painter. His paintings explore the flat surface  of the canvas, featuring shapes that seem to float or adhere to a luminous painted space. He  integrates the human form and landscapes into his art, creating a unique style. Bueno's work often  includes curved canvases, pushing the boundaries between painting and sculpture.

Jim Farmer - Jim Farmer is a versatile artist, composer, and playwright. His collage-like paintings  incorporate overlapping imagery from various sources, including literal objects, art history, interior and  exterior landscapes. Farmer's compositions can be eclectic, featuring different moods, styles, and  sources within a single canvas. His colorful compositions are layered with different figures, patterns,  and memories, creating a sense of fluidity and surprise reminiscent of film montage.

Michael Malpass - Michael Malpass championed various visual media as an artist, leaving behind an  expansive record of creative development. Passion for transforming metal shapes into beautiful  objects led him to hone welding and traditional blacksmithing techniques required to exert his will  over steel, bronze, copper, brass, or any combination of metals that he could find with intent to  purge the industrial life out of them. Freed, revitalized, time to become art. Malpass was among the  most creative and prolific artists of his generation.

The “Mystery of Things” exhibition aims to bring together these four artists, who have a long history  of artistic endeavors, to showcase their deeply felt and diverse works in one place. The descriptions  emphasize the unique artistic approaches and inspirations of each artist, highlighting their  contributions to the world of art.
